Fall Day Trips: Pottery & Apples

September 27, 2019 By Morgan

Looking for a fun day trip for the whole family? Head West to Hutchinson this Autumn. The colors along the Crow River are beautiful. There’s a Sculpture Stroll, and the scenic Luce Line runs along the bank of the river.

Plan a day to visit both the Clay Coyote Pottery & Gallery and the Carlson’s Apple Orchard, where you can pick or let them do the work. Grab a cup of soup and slice of perfect pie at the orchard (pro tip, we love the chicken wild rice). Then head down County Road 60 (it’s gravel for 7 miles) to the Clay Coyote.

Directions from Carlson's Apples to Clay Coyote

Then, pick out some amazing new pottery and gifts from the Gallery that are apple-friendly.

  • Paula Wolfert’s Moroccan Dessert “Truffles” with Dates, Almonds, and Apples
  • Stovetop Skillet Apple Crisp
  • Cranberry-Apple Crisp

Looking for other fun fall activities? We have two events coming up at the Pottery Shop.

Looking for other food an beverage options, check out: Crow River Winery, Bobbing Bobber Brewing Company, Zellas, and Senoras.
