Happy National Chili Day!

February 28, 2019 By Morgan

Happy National Chili Day! In honor of this timely holiday we made a big batch of homemade chili in our handmade flameware Dutch Oven.

Three kinds of organic beans (pinto, kidney, black), crushed tomatoes, green chilies, fresh bell pepper, and tons of seasoning (garlic, onion, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and a pinch of cinnamon). And fresh ground beef from Benny’s, our local butcher.

Put it all in the Dutch Oven and place in the oven at 200F for 8 hours. You could also do it at 350F for 4 hours.

It was great, served hot in a chili bowl, with fresh baked no knead bread, shredded cheddar, and a dollop of sour cream.

Happy #nationalchiliday! In honor of this timely holiday we made a big batch of #homemade chili in our #handmade #flameware Dutch Oven.
