Description

The essence of grilling is capturing the smoky flavor in every savory bite. The Clay Coyote Flameware Grill Basket allows you to encapsulate that taste and grill your food evenly without burning. Our Grill Basket is uniquely designed with a small bulb handle and tab for you to grab and control your basket on and off the grill. (But make sure to use a hot pad when handling as they like to hold onto the heat). We’ve designed our handle to be small, to maximize grilling space and allow the grill lid to close. From layering veggies and meat or making skewer-less shish kabobs, you can cook a variety of vegetables and meats together that will come out perfect every time.

Tips & FAQs:

  • Why is a clay grill basket better than a metal one? Clay spreads the heat out, metal degrades over time and tends to burn the food.
  • Can you put the clay grill basket in the dishwasher? Yes! We also recommend the 3M Scotch-Brite Stainless Steel scrubber to really clean it up. The grill basket will not scratch.
  • Why is the grill basket so unique? The Clay Coyote makes the only handmade clay grill basket in the USA, we use our own special blend of Clay Coyote Flameware Clay and Coyote Gray Glaze combo to create this one-of-a-kind basket.
  • Do you need to use oil? A little will go a long way to help make the grill basket stick-resistant. But if you want to skip it, you can.
  • Does it drip? We recommend using a plate or cookie sheet underneath to capture marinades when transferring from kitchen to grill.
  • Can you use the grill basket on the stovetop or in the oven?  Nope, it would make a real mess. We also make the Clay Coyote Flameware Cazuela, it’s the same piece but without the holes and it’s designed to go on the stovetop, oven, broiler, and also the grill.

We love this grill basket. We use it anytime we grill veggies. Everything gets that great grill flavor and the cleanup is a snap. We used to have a metal grill basket and I hated to use it because cleaning was a pain. This grill basket cleans up so fast. Flameware is wonderful! You need this grill basket.

I wasn’t sure the grill basket would fit inside my medium egg-style grill, but the staff measured them and compared them with my grill measurements and sure enough, it fits with room to spare. I love the grill basket! It is true that it cleans up with little trouble. And the food tastes absolutely wonderful! I’ve done lots of veggies, and a shrimp and veggie dish is next. Thanks again to the staff members who helped me find the right grill basket for my smoker/grill.

We use our grill basket at least 4 times a week, with a mixture of all kinds of vegetables. I can’t imagine life without it now!

I got this as a gift and I love it so much I bought one to pay forward. It’s a great product that heats the food evenly and cleans easily. If you like to grill veggies and other small items (like shrimp), this basket is far superior to any metal basket I’ve ever used.

We absolutely love this grill basket and use it all the time for veggies. I completely agree with the other reviews in that it’s so much better than a metal grill basket – there’s no comparison. Highly recommend and worth every penny.

My mother bought this for my wife and I for Mother’s/Father’s day. I’ve never had vegetables come out so well off the grill with such easy attendance and cleanup. Being able to stir with a metal utensil without worrying about sticking or scratching is so nice. Be sure to warm the piece up on the grill before adding the food. I’m looking forward to using this all summer long!

I use this lovely piece of magical fused earth frequently. It is good for shrimp, fish fillets, Shishito peppers, potatoes/onions/garlic. The grill pan is big enough to handle almost anything and is amazingly light weight. I keep an olive oil spray can at the grill to make the grill basket “non-stick”. It is a great gift to give to everyone you know.

I’ve tried various metal grill baskets over the years. Most of them work to keep the floor from falling through the grates but are a huge pain in the ass to clean, discolor, rust, warp, etc. I decided to give the Clay Coyote a try. I have used it on both my Big Green Egg and Weber Genesis. I’ve made deconstructed kabobs, grilled green beans, grilled asparagus and have also grilled salmon and halibut. This thing works great! You get even heat (I like to let it preheat with the grill) on the food, the holes allow a nice char so, basically it gives a great cook. You can do 500 plus degrees. Along with the cook, the really easy clean up (a little Dawn on the scrub side of a sponge does the trick) makes it well worth the price.
