Local Tips:

  • There are two local art galleries that carry Clay Coyote Pottery, please be sure to check them out. We are big fans of all of the artwork that they carry, not just the pottery.
    • Lemon Tree Pottery (and adjacent Cooks Shop)
    • Artful Hand Gallery
  • Right in the neighborhood:
    • We love Drifters for for cocktails, great food, and it’s walkable from the house.
    • Pisces is also just at the corner, they have a stellar wine list and fresh seafood.
    • Short ‘n’ Sweet Ice Cream is just a 4 minute walk down the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
    • Just down the road, grab made-to-order burritos at the Corner Store.
    • Forest Beach, a nice quiet beach with a great walking path through the dunes, is a 20 minute walk, or 3 minute drive.
    • Red River Beach, is a very family-friendly beach with lifeguards,  onsite bathrooms, and often a food truck with coffee, ice cream, and lunches is just 2 miles away.
  • Nearby Chatham:
    • A trip to the Cape is not complete with out a dinner at the Squire. Ask if they have the cod cheeks for a real treat!
    • Love to golf? Chatham Sea Side Links 9-hole course overlooks the ocean and it’s right across the street from Chatham Bars Inn for après golf cocktails on the veranda.
    • Rainy day? Want to catch a movie? Chatham Orpheum is modern screen, historic, renovated theatre. Don’t forget the popcorn and wine. Yes, they have a great selection at the concessions stand.
    • Stop at Mac’s Seafood for premade meals or next door at Chatham Fish & Lobster’s fresh market to make a seafood meal at home.
    • Visit the new seal watching spot at the Chatham Fish Pier. Get there early to watch the fishermen bring in the daily catch.
    • Walk down to Chatham Light for endless beach strolls.
    • Need a sweet fix? Marion’s Pies are amazing. So much so, that when we got married we had wedding pies instead of wedding cake. We can recommend the Key Lime, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Boston Cream.
    • Take in a Cape Cod Baseball League game and cheer on the Chatham Anglers.
    • Pop into the Eldridge Public Library for books, movies, puzzles, and more.
    • Head to Main Street and check out Kate Gould Park and Whit Tileston Chatham Bandstand for music in the park, Sharks in the Park, and other creative offerings.
    • Visiting over the 4th? Catch the fireworks over Oyster Pond.
    • Looking for a gift or two? We love Yankee Ingenuity’s Jon Vaughan photography selection and Mayflower Shop’s home décor.
    • Craving sushi? Bluefin won’t disappoint. Eat in or get it to-go and serve on your sushi trays at home.
  • Other Cape Suggestions:
    • Take a day trip to Woods Hole and visit the Oceanographic Institution.
    • Go whale watching off the tip of Provincetown (P-Town) and then wander Commercial Street.
    • Don’t miss the Chatham Bars Inn Farm Stand in Brewster.
    • Try Rock Harbor Grill in Orleans has a nightly specials list that is wow-worthy.
    • Get Dirt Bombs (or Dirt Baums as we like to call them) from Cottage Street Bakery in Orleans.
    • In P-town we love Tin Pan Alley for a great meal and sit in the back for an excellent view.
