Marc Matsui Ceramics

April 23, 2013 By Ann

Born and raised in Seattle, Marc Matsui first became interested in ceramics at the early age of 15. He is best known for his simplistic, delicate hand thrown pieces. His use of glazing techniques transforms clay into a canvas suitable for setting off intense colors. The application of brilliant colors often makes his pieces look more like glass than ceramic.

In his endeavor to stimulate visual excitement Marc integrates color and abstract design on simple, yet elegant forms. Everyone will see something different in a piece, and Marc’s goal is to create a contemporary look that is suitable and affordable for any home.

All of Marc’s bowls and plates are finely crafted from high fired porcelain. Each beautiful creation may be displayed on a table or hung on the wall.  A vinyl wrapped hanging loop is attached to the back of each piece.
