Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between using Flameware and Stoneware?
Our Clay Coyote Flameware can be used over direct heat (e.g. a stovetop or grill). We only offer Clay Coyote Flameware in one color Coyote Gray. Our Clay Coyote Stoneware is great for baking. It can get hot, but it doesn’t like to change temperature quickly. So its a good practice to put it in the oven and let it come up to temperature during the preheat. Both Clay Coyote Flameware and Clay Coyote Stoneware are microwave and dishwasher safe. They’re all lead and nickle free. And great alternatives to metal for your kitchen.  They say cooking is an art, we make art you can cook with.
What is your online refund and exchange policy?
We accept returns and exchanges. Contact us within 14 days of delivery; ship items back within 30 days of delivery. We will refund the price of the item. We will not refund the price of shipping. If the piece has been used or damaged we can refuse a refund. If you have special circumstances, please call us 320-587-2599. We stand behind our work and we will work with you to come up with a solution.
Do you take special orders?
It depends, if you have something specific that you’re looking for please contact us and we’ll ask the potters if they can do it. They have their own styles and techniques. Please send an email to [email protected].
Do you offer gift certificates?
Youbetcha, we have gift certificates for sale online and in the Gallery and we continue to honor all gift certificates sold since we opened the Gallery in 2002. So look in the back of your wallet or junk drawer, you might find an oldie but goodie gem. Clay Coyote gift certificates are not accepted at off-site events like MN Pottery Festival or Garlic Festival.
Will my punch card still be honored?
No, we discontinued punch cards as of December 31, 2016.
Do you hold classes?
No, but we’re happy to point you in the direction of some great alternatives. Although we are not affiliated with them, there are adult classes around the area to consider (e.g Minnetonka Center for the Arts, Dassel-Cokato Community Education, Main Prairie Studio in Kimball, Dock 6 in Minneapolis; Fired Up in Golden Valley, Northern Clay in Minneapolis, Caufield Clayworks in St. Paul, and Artistry in Bloomington).
How can I apply to be an Emerging Artists?
We are currently taking applications. If you’d like to apply please contact us.
When is the next Minnesota Pottery Festival?
The  Minnesota Pottery Festival will take place July 29-30, 2023. For more on the Festival visit the website www.mnpotteryfestival.com
