SUMMARY:30th Anniversary Spring Open House
DESCRIPTION:When? Come see us on April 26 and 27 from 10:00am to 5:00pm in downtown Hutchinson!\nWho? Join us and guest artists Lolly Hinckle\, Sharon Cherney and Claire Swanson.\nWhere? 22 First Ave NE\, Hutchinson\, MN 55350 (Hwy 7 about an hour West of the Twin Cities Metro)\nWhat? Check out recipe tastings\, cookbook signing\, door prizes\, and more!\nWant to chat? Call us at 320-587-2599 with questions \nVisiting Artists: \n\nClaire Swanson’s Baskets\nSharon Chreney’s Leather\nLolly Hinckle’s Jewelry\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nI’ve been thinking back to some of the first Open Houses. I remember the kiln openings (ooooh\, aaaah!). People scooping up pots that were actually still warm! \nThe memorable and sometimes elaborate hors d’oeuvres. The time I was in charge of the food signs and announced that we had a Toco Bar. One year\, I convinced my mom that fried pickles were called Fickles and she told everyone! \nThere were the the many\, many\, many guests artists: other potters\, jewelers\, wood workers\, goats\, painters\, metalworkers\, glass artists\, photographers\, soaps\, and so much more. \nThe Open House the day after we had the fire in 2004\, and put stickers on all the pots that said\, “I survived the fire!” Ian still drinks out of a mug from that infamous kiln batch. \nMy favorite part of the Open Houses is visiting with the family and friends who would come and help out all weekend. It has been pure joy pouring mimosas in the back room\, sitting at the tables and catching up\, and at the end of the day hanging out long after the crowds left and sharing all our stories of the day. You made it all so special. \nWhen we say that you’re part of the Coyote Family we mean it from the bottoms of our hearts and pots. There is no way we would be where we are today without you. \nThank you isn’t adequate\, but it will have to do until this weekend when we can tell you in person and give you a hug. \n~ Morgan & The Coyotes

SUMMARY:Spring Open House: Featuring Pottery By Tom Wirt
DESCRIPTION:There was an old saying in the Clay Coyote studio\, “I may be older than dirt\, but I’m not older than Wirt.” For more than 20 years\, Tom and Betsy ran the Clay Coyote before selling it to Betsy’s daughter in 2016. \nFor the last 6 years\, Tom continued to make pots under a new umbrella\, NewClay Pottery. Following his 80th birthday\, in early 2023 he retired\, moved\, and closed the studio. He still had some pieces remaining and collaborated with Betsy to finish them. \nJoin us for “one last turn” to buy one of Tom’s pots. There are some favorite shapes and styles\, finished in classic Clay Coyote glaze patterns. \nTom will be onsite both days to talk pots and share memories. \nPro Tip: Come early for mugs\, plates\, covered casseroles\, and colanders. \nComplimentary refreshments will be available. \n**And Support a Good Cause**\nSome pottery will be marked as “by the pound” or “suggested donation” and all proceeds will go toward the Hutchinson Center for the Arts!
